Our Story
A Great Story Started in 2004
SpeciTec (“Specific Technologies”) was created by his founder Philip Smith in 2004 to develop software for specific needs of the market in the private banking sector in Switzerland. Former senior manager at KPMG, Philip Smith was leading the regulatory reporting activity (using FiRE) for Banks of Switzerland with a lot of success.
At SpeciTec, Philip’s vision was to focus on applications outside the core banking package such as MIS for profitability, Client onboarding for compliance, FX blotter for trading profit, Credit monitoring for Lombard credit supervision.
SpeciTec, strong in niche software for private Banks!
During the first 10 years, SpeciTec invest significantly to build up a suite of software covering today different domains: Lombard loan, Mobile Banking, Operational (FX, Treso, Accounting, MIS) and Compliance. All software is successfully deployed. In average, clients hold in average 3 software(s) of SpeciTec! From 2, we are now 20+ experts.
In terms of growth, the initial vision is coming true with the emergence of SpeciTec as one of the Swiss FinTech that matters, allowing banks to digitalize their workflows and facilitate client interaction. The significant sectorial diversification of its clients is the other side of this success.
The public and industry broaden the SpeciTec horizon to a wide range of sectors!
We also diversified our activity with the same strategy in the public and industry sector(s). We work for public (communes of the Geneva Canton, Geneva state), transportation (TPG, Skyguide) and industry (Lemo, Swatch group).
Message of the president
As independent company, we wish to keep SpeciTec at a human scale with respect of people and environment. We also believe that the success needs to be partnering with our clients, reaching excellence of our team and building innovative software are key factors of the company’s success.
In the last 4 years, the company has double its turnover. The success comes also from a very structured organization working in a very collaborative mode. Thanks to management (Franck Oliger, Alberic Vaillant de Guelis, Jacques Marilley and Pierre Idare) and to our team of experts capable of working in a team to develop and build creative solution.
We are also very proud that our solutions are now used throughout the word: Switzerland, Middle East, Hong Kong, Brazil and United States. Our ability to serve from small size to very large client is also a success.
